Innovator Ian Schrager’s design-forward EDITION brand is coming to Ft Lauderdale Beach. The EDITION Fort Lauderdale which will also be known as 551 Bayshore Residences Fort Lauderdale is a Residence Only, no hotel-component condominium project consisting of two ultra-luxury 11-story towers. Set in the heart of North Beach Village, in Ft Lauderdale, the EDITION is located directly on the Intracoastal waterway and is within walking distance to white sand beaches.

Developer Location Ventures has combined talents with Architect Garcia Stromberg – GS4 Studios, interior design by ODA, residence design by CLODAGH, and landscape architect Cadence.

Luxury EDITION residences feature two, three, and four-bedroom + den residences ranging from 1,820 to 4,660 Interior SQFT and include floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors, expansive private terraces with glass railings highlighting ocean, Intracoastal, and city views. Each of the condo towers, (North & South) will be 11 stories tall and contain 4 residences per floor. Most of the residences will be 2-bedroom plus dens approximately 2,400 interior SF and 3-bedroom plus dens approximately 2,800 SF. Terraces will range from 400-800 sq/ft and include summer kitchens with electric grills and beverage centers. All residences come finished and furniture ready. Flooring and closets will be included. Owners will enjoy wine coolers as well as Wolf and Subzero appliances, and custom-Italkraft cabinetry in the kitchens.  The ceiling height in each condo will be 10′.

551 Bayshore Condominium will also include 9 ground-level villas with private plunge pools and expansive terraces. There are 4 penthouses, 2 in each tower that flow thru east to west with approximately 4,400 interiors SF.

Residences will have the option of valeting or self-parking their vehicles. Each condo unit at 551 Bayshore will come with at least 2 assigned parking spaces which will be located on the 3rd and 4th floors. The rooftops on both towers will be amenities designated for wellness and take advantage of the water and ocean views. There will also be food and beverage services available to the owners as well as a spa, gym, and 24/7 security and concierge.

The working name for the project is 551 Bayshore and also references are being made to Olakino House. What clues can be found in the name? Olakino is a Hawaiian term meaning, state of health and wellbeing. The emphasis on this project will embody wellbeing. We know this must be the design direction since Clodagh Design has been named to the project. Don’t be surprised if there is another project name change. Rumors have it that big name brand is possibly in the works.

The project will consist of 2 -eleven story towers with 65 residences along 400′ of the Intracoastal Waterway. 551 Bayshore borders the heart of charming Northbeach Village within a few minutes walking distance to the beaches. We anticipate that the project with provide a marina for boat to beach lifestyle.

The team for 551 Bayshore includes: Developer is Location Ventures whose development credits in Fort Lauderdale include: AquaMar, AquaVita, AquaLuna, AquaBlu and the W Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Residences among others. The Architect is Garcia Stromberg with architectural credits in Fort Lauderdale that include: Adagio and Gale Boutique Hotel. The Designer is the afore mentioned Clodagh Design. Clodagh is an esteemed pioneer in green design.  Her work stems from a philosophy that individual wellness comes when the mind, body and spirit are cradled with warmth that extends to the senses. Clodagh is also a passionate advocate for sustainability in design. Her projects in the Fort Lauderdale area include the W Hotel & Residences and Whisky Blue among others. And finally the Landscape Designer is Kimley-Horn, one of the nations premiere planning and design consulting firms.
